My name is Miss McCabe and I am thrilled to be your SENDCo.  As you prepare to embark on your exciting journey into secondary school, I want to reassure you that we are here to ease any anxieties or worries you may have. Together, we will explore the incredible opportunities that await you at Sheffield Springs Academy.

Our wonderful SEND team is eager to meet you and learn all about your unique strengths and talents. You can find us in The Hub on C Floor, a welcoming space designed for you to connect and thrive. Rest assured, our amazing staff and friendly students will always be around, ready to guide you to us. We’re open daily before school, during break, and at lunchtime, so please do pop in and say hello!

The Hub is more than just a space; it’s a vibrant community where everyone feels at home. Here, you can take a moment to check in with our supportive team, seek assistance in building and maintaining friendships, or share any concerns that may arise. We often engage in fun activities, celebrate birthdays, and discuss the exciting day ahead. Embracing the wonderful uniqueness of every young person who visits us is our passion, and we can’t wait to welcome you into our fold!

We take pride in our dedicated team of Specialist Learning Coaches, Key Workers, SENDCos, and Administrative Support, all of whom work closely with your class teachers and head of year. Together, we will ensure you receive the tailored support you need to flourish during your time at Sheffield Springs Academy.

With the assistance of your guardians, your previous school, and, most importantly, you, we will create a personalised passport outlining the help you require in your classes. We understand that life changes, and we will be here to support you every step of the way.
