Support & Guidance for Parents

All the different options that are out there for young people can be very confusing. This section of the website provides parents with an insight into the key steps in your child’s career journey at springs. Alongside providing useful information to support your child’s understanding their next steps and career decisions. If you would like to look into a specific area or topic please use the pane above navigate the website.

In brief the three key transitions that you child will undertake while they are here at Springs are as follows:

Year 6 Transition- where they move from primary to secondary school.

Year 9 GCSE Options Choices- Selecting their GCSE subjects and making the first steps towards their future career goals.

Year 11 Post-16 applications- Where they will select and apply to the post-16 college, sixth-form etc that they want to attend and have the needed predicted grades

All students and parents have access to our careers team, based in the LRC. They offer drop-ins before school, break, lunch and afterschool. Bespoke 1:1 sessions can also be arranged with students and/or parents by invitation.
